Primary Colors Red, Yellow, Blue, are the basic colors which cannot be mixed from any other colors. Secondary Colors Orange, Green, Purple, are made by mixing two primary colors together. Intermediate Colors Mixed from a primary color and a secondary color, like Blue‐Green. Warm colors Yellow, Red, and Orange which are placed together to create a “sunny” feeling. Cool Colors Blue, Green, and Purple which are placed together to create a “calm” feeling. Complementary Colors Colors that are opposites on the color wheel. Red/Green (strawberry), Orange/Blue (Mets), and Yellow/Purple (Lakers). Mood The feeling created in your artwork, like happy, sad, etc. Color scheme A plan for using colors in an artwork. Monochromatic A color scheme that uses different values of a single color which creates a sense of unity. Analogous A color scheme that uses colors that are side by side on the color wheel that share a hue. Neutrals Color schemes include black and white and values of gray.
