Absolute Monarchy Form of government that existed mostly in the past where a king/queen held all the power of their country and ruled by force Anarchy A condition in a country where there is no government. Democracy Form of government where the power is shared with the people by means of elections/voting Direct Democracy Type of democracy where the laws are made directly by the citizens voting on the laws. Representative Democracy/Republic Type of democracy where citizens elect representatives to make the laws Republic Form of representative democracy we have in the USA Monarchy Form of government where the power in the hands of a king/queen whose power is hereditary (passed down through family) Dictatorship Form of government where the ruler/s has total power over the government and citizens. Most have taken power by force. Oligarchy Type of dictatorship controlled by a group of people Theocracy Type of dictatorship where dictator gets power from God/s or religion of that country Totalitarian Type of dictatorship where dictator has total control over the people and society Monarchies, Democracies and Dictatorships
