This is all the important events in a story. Plot Tells where and when the story takes place. Setting The story's problem, usually found at the beginning of the story. Conflict How the problem is resolved. Resolution Events leading to the climax Rising action What happens after the climax; wraps everything up Falling action The most significant or exciting part of the story Climax "Next, then, finally"; organizes the story by telling the order it happened in Chronological order/Sequence Main character of the story, or the person you're rooting for Protagonist Simile, metaphor, and personification are examples of Figurative language Compares two unlike things using "like" or "as" Simile Compares two unlike things without using "like" or "as" Metaphor Something nonhuman is given human characteristics Personification A set of cards to go over main ideas in ELA
